Water, Copper, Ayurveda and Modern Science

Our Earth is a gigantic container of water where all forms of Life live, where every living organism is a container of Water. Water is an integral part of us and civilizations since time immemorial have been designed around water. All the water on our planet earth has always been the same, in different states and it is interesting to know that water is the only substance found which is found in all three states ‘Water, Vapor and Gaseous’

Experiments done in many countries around the world have shown that water receives and makes an imprint of any outside influence remembering everything in the space that surrounds it. Any substance that comes in contact with water leaves a trace in the water. Our Ancestors knew this and used healing metals like Copper to store water. (why Copper is another topic to understand)

Scientists from around the world have been studying this for many years with data and slides to advocate this phenomenon called Water Memory

As Water records information it acquires new properties, yet its chemical composition remains unchanged. The structure of water is much more important than the chemical composition. The structure of water means how its molecules join into groups, which the scientists call Clusters. Scientists claim that these clusters work as a memory cell where water records its experience with the relationship to the world. The structure of water reacts like the nervous system in our bodies. Different experiences bring about varied molecular changes in the structure like a malleable computer chip.

Modern instruments have made it possible to record the fact that within each of the memory cells there are 440000 information panels each of which is responsible for its unique interaction with the environment outside. Scientific microscopic studies of the molecular structure of water has revealed that positive or negative emotions affect the molecular structure of water. Good emotions increase the energy of water and stabilize it while negative emotions radically affect it and reduce its energy. Rishis of ancient India called this Prana shakti

Dr Emoto from Japan researches on water and has many findings published to show this effect.

Depending on our age very individual is about 70-90% water. An average adult drinks about 2-3 litres of water each day.

It is very important for each one of us to drink water with gratitude respect and love as we our nourishing ourselves with the Elixir of Life given by nature.

Ancient texts of Ayurveda, (Ayur Veda meaning Knowledge of Life) from India, speak on the immense benefits of Water stored in Copper and its effect on our body. Many ancient civilizations used Copper to store water.

As per Ayurveda, its prescribed to drink water stored in copper for about 6-8 hours and the ritual is called ‘Ushapaan’. As per Ayurveda water stored in Copper Vessels is called 'Tamra Jal' (Tamra meaning Red and Jal meaning Water in Sanskrit).

Ayurveda names three elemental substances, the doshas (called Vata, Pitta and Kapha), and states that a balance of the doshas results in health, while imbalance results in disease. As per Ayurveda, each human possesses a unique combination of the doshas which define the person's temperament and characteristics. Over course of life due to stress we are thrown off balance from the Tridoshic structure unique to us. A holistic approach to life with Ayurvedic remedies can help us increase or decrease the doshas thereby maintaining the natural state unique to each one of us.

When we sleep, there are involuntary actions inside our body which heal and repair us from within. Toxins are released ready to be flushed out of our system. There is acid formation in our digestive tract and our body is dehydrated in the process. As per Ayurveda one should store water in a copper vessel and leave it overnight. After a span of 6-8 hours, this water becomes naturally alkaline as trace amount of copper ions get dissolved in the water.

The charged copper water helps to bring balance in the body's pH levels (Acid-Alkaline balance). As per Ayurveda, it is also known to help bring the balance of the Tridosha (Vata, Kapha and Pitta) of the body.

It’s a good idea to drink this water for a couple of months and take a break for couple of weeks in between and continue again. Like all medicines we do not want the body to get used to it. Keeping the balance ‘sama’ in everything we do and eat is a key to good health.
